hi) after draining my fuel filter of water earlier i noticed some black gunky oil residue around the egr and anti shudder valve. is this coming from the atv? or do i have a leak:-/ its on a 1.4pd, i think it was the same on my on my pd150 when i did the egr delete mod, but can't be certain
Car Audi A4 Avant. 2003 1.9 tdi 130 hp. AVF. I have a oil leak. And it's driving me crazy. Just changed the valve cover gasket. And cable loom. I thought I maybe came from a bad head gasket. But no. It comes out on the bottoms bolt on the exhaust manifold. I off cause cleaned it very good.

. #1. Guys, I've a lot about benefits of EGR delete like:-. - More power/more oxygen going into the engine. - Cleaner exhaust gases as not re-circulation is taking place. - No EGR blockages etc etc. What are the downside of doing an EGR delete. Surely it must be bad for the engine because :-.
spah 298 posts ยท Joined 2010. #2 ยท Oct 31, 2013. If you're seeing lots of oil through the pcv then it will work its way into the egr. Also, mixing with the hot egr gasses it will create buildup. You can add a catch can (provent 200 is very popular) that will remove pretty much all of the oil from your crank breather.
Ive had my Audi a4 for over a year now and clocked up nearly 60K with no problems. Its on 220k at the moment and still performs fine. Recently I've noticed a couple of oil patches on the drive and it has started to make what I can only describe as a boost leak noise or an over exaggerated dump valve when accelerating.
