the srt is much faster, less off road, and more expensive. driving on a beach is not extreme offroading. any jeep will do it. I like my v8 overland. Will probably get another one in 2017. or an SRT, I don't know, I prefer the off road capacity to faster on road. 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland V8, QD, QL. 0-60 times are very close but everyday driving is much more refined with the 8 speed. The 35-75 mph time is almost four seconds quicker with the 8 speed vs. 5 speed. That is more "real world" driving. 0-60 is cool for bragging rights but not many people go full throttle from a dead stop to 60 mph in normal driving.
