I have recently purchased a Mazda 6 2.2 TS2 Diesel. With Full service history. The DPF light has come on at 65,000 - The dealership has adviced this it due to the Timing chain exceding tolerance (stretching) and this is an indication of imminent failure. The cosat of replacement is £950. Surely a timing chain failure at this milage is a manufactures fault. Also I have seen reference to Mazda
This is ESPECIALLY so for the CX7 2.3L Turbo engine. And the most critical need is for the oil and filter to be changed at EVERY service. We recommend DECREASING the time and distance traveled between regular oil and filter changes BELOW that recommended by Mazda. We also recommend a higher grade of oil, and going to a fully synthetic oil if
The recall affects diesel variants of Mazda 3 (2014-2016), Mazda 6 (2012-2018) and CX-5 (2012-2018). According to Mazda, “the affected vehicles may accumulate carbon deposits in the intake shutter valve, in addition to premature wear of certain engine components.” If the above occurs, the following symptoms may present: - A…
Symptoms of Bad Fuel Injectors. 1. Rough Idle. When your Mazda 2 has bad fuel injectors, you may notice a rough idle. This occurs because the injectors are not providing a consistent flow of fuel, causing the engine to operate unevenly. With a fuel injector that is not properly atomizing fuel properly, your 2 is going to have a difficult time
The following is an oil pump priming method for a MAZDA BT50 and Ford Ranger 3.2 Diesel. Disconnect the battery to prevent you from starting the engine. Place an oil catchment bucket below the engine. Remove the oil filter. Fill up the engine with 15 (Fifteen) liters of oil. Allow the engine to stand for a full day 24 Hours.
The Mazda 2.2 engine is affected by DPF issues - though it's certainly better than the previous 2.0, which many owners feel was simply unfit for purpose. The DPF seems to go into self regenerate mode an awful lot, which injects extra fuel to raise the temp in the filter.
Given the CX-8 only arrived on the market in June 2018, it's a bit too early to say conclusively, but the current CX-5 diesel (which shares its mechanicals with the CX-8) seems to be trouble free under these conditions. Early versions of the first-generation CX-5 diesel had diesel particulate filter (DPF) issues that caused diesel fuel to leak
Late reply but i'm gunna throw in my couple of cents worth. I have a 2014 2.2 Skyactiv-D Mazda 3 Answering your questions; 1. MZD Connect in your screen "Fuel Economy Monitor" will display the engine logo not highlighted blue, i-stop light will disappear completely and the exhaust has a woofing booming noise on revs between 1000-2000RPM on the deceleration only.

For starts, that car had the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. More importantly, I didn’t get much of a chance to actually use it the way it was intended. I don’t recall having more than 3 people on board at one time during my test drive. This time however, I got the top-of-the-line 2.2-litre turbo diesel with all-wheel drive.
The car was off the road for 5 weeks due to lack of replacement turbos. In the end, I was told the turbo, vac pump and camshaft were replaced and the head was de-coked. The service managed explained that the failure was due to the excessive carbon build-up rather than camshaft wear. The total cost was about £2500 for the two jobs, failed parts

The Mazda Mk.2 BT-50 2.2- and 3.2-litre turbo diesel engines have exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers located at the rear of the engine. The cooler has two coolant lines which enter it and are used to cool exhaust gases in the EGR system. The EGR cooler, however, is susceptible to splitting internally.
Make sure the O-ring on the dipstick is positioned properly before reinserting the dipstick. Reinsert the dipstick fully. (SKYACTIV-D 2.2) Inspect the engine oil level periodically. When inspecting the engine oil, if the engine oil level is exceeds the “X” mark on the dipstick, replace the engine oil.
