Forty years after Creedence Clearwater Revival broke up, John Fogerty explains why things are finally looking up. J ohn Fogerty would like to make it very clear that he is happy now. That needs Creedence Clearwater Revival, a band named after a beer commercial, was led by John Fogerty, a famously exacting musician whose perfectionism drove the rest of the band crazy. CCR headlined at Creedence Clearwater Revisited, the band that Cook and Clifford formed, now happily performs in mediocre casinos. In spite of being in a band together for half a century, the surviving members of the band (Tom Fogerty died in 1990), nevertheless have a deep-seated animosity for one another. It was Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), a band whose sound mixed Rock & Roll with Southern R&B, even though its members were from El Cerrito, CA. “They blended these genres with John Fogerty’s gravely voice to carve out their own place in the music industry,” said Vaden Thurgood , who created Creedence Clearwater Remixed! , a high About Creedence Clearwater Revival.
